The Germantown Parks & Recreation Department recently announced that the return of youth sports has begun with Shelby County moving into Phase II of the ‘Back to Business’ Plan.  We have been preparing for this for several weeks and are excited to begin executing our return to play plans.

As a first step, we want to know about your plans regarding participating through July.  We also know that you will have questions about how we plan to safely return to the field.  We have developed a plan that has been shared widely with local officials.

City of Germantown COVID-19 'Phase II' Return to Play information found by visiting... COVID19-PhaseII.GermantownLegends.com

To summarize, the Legends Return to Play plan includes schedule adjustments, reduced spectators, on-field modifications, off-field modifications to increase social distancing and awareness, advanced sanitation and cleaning procedures and health screenings of players, staff and coaches.

1.  Training schedules…. and team numbers.  (Matches to begin during Phase III.)

2.  Designated areas for players and equipment, with minimal contact between players.  NO team meetings, NO hand shakes or high fives.  Face masks are allowed but not required on the field.

3.  Off-field modifications… No parents during trainings (Parents are to remain in the parking lot).  Approved signage will be prominently posted regarding the Germantown Parks & Recreation Department and Germantown Legends return to play guidelines.  Staff will be on hand to monitor and enforce COVID-19 compliant policies.

4.  Cleaning and sanitation procedures are a top priority.  Each field will have hand sanitizer stations for each team.  All equipment will be sanitized between player use when sharing occurs.

5.   All players, staff and coaches will complete a self assessment of symptoms before coming to the park.  Anyone with a fever or any symptom MUST stay home.

For ALL Jr. Legends programs (U12- U19), our only option is reimbursement, as we are unable find any outside teams to play.  For those returning in the Fall, we are allowing a FULL CREDIT towards the registration fees.
